Wolverhampton Wanderers u23 boss and ex-Wolves player Rob Edwards was pleased with the resilience and determination of his side, following Wolves’ last-gasp 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers at the County Ground, Leyland on Friday evening.
“I’m pleased to get the three points in the end,” said Edwards.
“It was obviously a challenging game, it was 50/50 at 1-1, and then obviously when the sendings off occurred, it really changed the game.
“They (Blackburn) were still a real threat with ten men, then with nine men, we were always going to control the game, so I’m pleased that the lads kept going and going.
“It was nice to get the three points, but obviously they’ll be disappointed, Blackburn, because they’ve gone down to nine men, and the ref’s made those decisions.
“I thought that we started the game well in the second-half. I thought the first-half was fairly even, yes they enjoyed spells of possession, but that’s the way we play. Every team’s going to have periods of possession against us.
“I do think that we could’ve been a to more aggressive in the press, but I thought we had moments of control as well.”
