Luke Humphries clinched his eighth PDC Development Tour title as the Berkshire-based ace was successful at PDC Unicorn Development Tour 17 in Wigan on Saturday afternoon. Humphries topped the Development Tour order of merit in 2017 as he was rewarded with a PDC tour card. It’s been quite a year for Humphries as he qualified for six European Tour events, and he missed out on a place at the European Championship by a whisker.
Humphries sealed the victory with an impressive 5-1 victory over Blackburn’s Bradley Brooks, who earlier in the event saw off Jeffrey de Zwaan with a 102 average, JDZ produced some ridiculous numbers as the World Matchplay Semi-Finalist averaged 115.6 in his Quarter-Final win over Brian Raman. Over the course of the event, Humphries was very impressive as he saw off the likes of Callum Dudding (4-1), William Thexton (4-0), Bradley Clark (4-1), Kallum Graham (4-0), Jimmy Hendriks (4-1) and Mike De Decker 5-2 with an average of over 100.
