Michael van Gerwen was in sensational form as he seen off Rob Cross 10-4 as the World number one averaged a mind-boggling 108.83 average without really looking like he played at the very top of his game which is a scary thought. In the opening exchanges there was no seperating the pair as Cross moved into a 2-1 lead as he took out 101 for a 12-darter. However, Van Gerwen went in at the break 3-2 to the good as he won two legs in just 27 darts and it sermed that the break came at the wrong time for Cross as he won just two legs out of the nine legs played after the break. Cross hung in there as he stayed within a leg of Van Gerwen just after the break as trailed 5-4. Van Gerwen stepped things up a gear from that point though as he won five legs on-the-spin as he fired in legs of 11, 13, 16, 11 and 14 darts on his way to clinching a place in the Semi-Finals.
