This weekend in Philadelphia, the Magic Darts Championship Darts Circuit draws to a close. And, there’s a lot at stake, and a lot to be excited about. In 2018, the standard of play has been remarkable on the CDC Tour, and with the Professional Darts Corporation offering two places for the top Canadian player & the top US player, the CDC has drawn in a lot of interest on a global scale.

But, moving away from the Main Tour, the Evolution Tour finals will take place in Philadelphia, and I for one am very excited to see how things will unfold. The newly-crowned inaugural CDC Junior Tour champion Gavin Nicoll will be joined by Keifer Durham, 13-year old Jamison Merritt & Trevor Pettigrew to battle it out for the $1,000 first prize, and the right to be named the 2018 CDC Evolution Tour champion.

Gavin Nicoll will take on Trevor Pettigrew in the first Semi-Final, with Jamison Merritt & Keifer Durham battling it out in the other. The format for the Semi-Finals is the best of 11 legs, with the final being extended to the best of 13 legs. The final of the Evolution Tour will be streamed LIVE on Facebook on the Championship Darts Circuit page, and on the USA Darts page. Both the links will be at the foot of this preview.

As for the CDC Main Tour, the race for the no.1 spot is very tasty indeed. Jim Long currently leads the tour table, but Gary Mawson, David Fatum & Ross Snook are very much in contention to battle it out for the spot for the William Hill World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace in December.

As for the US spot at Ally Pally.. Darin Young leads the way, but he’s closely followed by Chuck Puleo who’s impressed a lot of people within North American darts in 2018. Leonard Gates was tipped by many to be in contention, but after not attending the last few weekends due to his own reasons, he cannot qualify. DJ Sayre has also been playing some great darts this year along with Danny Lauby Jnr who has a great future in North American darts.

I expect quite a few names to be in Wigan come January for PDC Qualifying School. Off the top of my head, I think that Fatum, Lauby Jnr, White will return after their appearances at Q-School in January, and I think that there could be a few more names added to that list. I certainly can confirm that Chuck Puleo will be there, and darts in North America is in a great place at the minute, and it will only continue to grow with the massive popularity and interest that the CDC generates.

Below is the current CDC Tour points list heading into weekend five 👇👇👇

Also, a special mention to Logan Crooks & Sean Coohill who are the two representatives for Canada & the USA at the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship in Wigan this coming November.

You can watch all the action this weekend on the Championship Darts Circuit Facebook page, and on USA Darts.
