Sky Bet Championship leaders Leeds United continued their unbeaten start to the 2019/20 season as Marcelo Bielsa’s side fired three goals past Stoke city at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds’ Stuart Dallas opened to scoring for the visitors as he latched on to a delicately-placed through ball from Pablo Hernandez, which gave Bielsa’s side the lead just three minutes prior to the break.

Leeds doubled their lead just five minutes into the second-half as Patrick Bamford squared the ball over to Ezgjan Alioski as the Macedonian tapped the ball home from close-range.

Bamford himself got ‘in on the act’ as he pounced on Alioski’s spilled effort to pile the misery on Stoke City.

Following the win, Marcelo Bielsa spoke with BBC Radio Leeds to reflect on Saturday afternoons emphatic display.

“The start of the game was complicated for us, but after we started managing the ball, we started to defend well and attack well.

“We are playing with the same ideas as last year, but we are losing the ball less and suffering less from counter-attacks.

“Pablo (Hernandez) is someone who can do something special with the last pass, and Dallas is a full-back who can arrive high in the opponent’s half or he can play further back. Everyone can add to the game.”
