Ryan Searle’s fantastic run continues as the Devon-based star booked his place in the last 16 of the William Hill World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace following an assuring 4-1 victory over William O’Connor on Saturday evening.
Searle lost a tense opening set, but he responded expertly as he ran riot to take the next four sets whilst producing some gilt edged finishing.
Searle will face Michael Smith or John Henderson in the last 16, and the Devon man admitted that the £35,000 guaranteed prize money that he’s earned during the World Championship so far is a ‘life changing’ amount of money that will benefit him and his young family. The William Hill World Championship has sprung so many surprises thus far, as nine of the top 16 seeds are out of the tournament. This paves the way for the likes of Ryan Searle, Nathan Aspinall, Brendan Dolan etc to go deep in the tournament.
Searle will return to action on December 27 as he faces Michael Smith/John Henderson.
