Bewdley’s Luke Woodhouse produced an impressive display to see off Germany’s Manfred Bilderl at the International Darts Open in Reisa, Germany on Friday evening.
Despite only receiving his darts from his delayed luggage just one hour before the match, Woodhouse produced an impressive display, averaging 94.84 in a comfortable 6-1 win over the German.
During the win, Woodhouse produced an impressive 121 finish on the bull, three maximums and 6/16 on the outer ring as he set up a second round meeting with Steve Beaton on Saturday.
“I’m happy with that”, said a victorious Luke Woodhouse after the win. “My case only arrived over an hour ago, I had no darts, I had nothing.”
On the prospect of facing Steve Beaton in the second round, Woodhouse added: “Everyone knows what Steve can do, he’s a great player. He’s done it for over 30 years, he’s a fantastic player. If I can turn up and do the same again, then I’ll be happy.”
