The Championship Darts Circuit dates and venues were revealed this week as the the CDC move into their fiifth year of existence. The Championship Darts Corporation (CDC) have been growing in popularity year-on-year, and 2018 was a breakthrough year for the CDC as the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) awarded two spots at the 2019 William Hill World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace in London.

Additionally, the PDC also awarded a spot to the winner of the North American Championship over in Las Vegas, the news of the three qualifying spots came as a pleasant suprise to the the CDC and the four partners behind the organisation. Peter Citera, the Chief executive officer was fortunate enough to travel to the UK to cheer on Chuck Puleo (USA) and Jim Long (Canada) who qualified as the top ranked players on the 2018 CDC Tour as the top ranked Canadian and the top ranked American. Jeff Smith of course took the North American Champion spot, but for Puleo and Long, they battled through five tough weekends over 10 events to qualify for the biggest tournament in World darts.

The 2018 Magic Darts Championship Darts Circuit was a roaring success, and to be recognised by the PDC just sort of highlights how well the CDC are progressing as a darts corporation. And with six different winners out of ten events on the Magic Darts Championship Darts Circuit in 2018, again it highlights the quality of play that the CDC has in it’s events. Gary Mawson, Leonard Gates (3), Chuck Puleo (3), Darin Young (2), Nick Linberg and three-time World champion John Part all picked up titles in 2018, and 2019 looks set to be even better.

And with Puleo and Long doing the USA and Canada proud at the 2019 William Hill World Darts Championship, and the pair will have certainly inspired more of the USA and Canada’s best players to come and give the Championship Darts Circuit a go. Also, the CDC’s Junior Tour and Evolution Tour has also been a roaring success.

Gavin Nicoll (pictured) was victorious on the CDC Junior Tour in 2018, and it it opened all kinds of doors of opportunity for the 17-year old from Ohio, who’s father Timmy is a tour-card holder on the Championship Darts Circuit Tour. Nicoll went on to represent the USA at the Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) World Cup in Bristol, England. Nicoll also partipated at the World Junior Darts Championship on the same weekend alongside Joey Lynaugh, Jamison Merritt and Conner Zarazoga.

As for the Evolution Tour, Nicoll also went on to reach the grand final, but he was defeated by Ontario’s Keifer Durham who had an excellent 2018 on the Evolution Tour in what was his final year on that particular tour. So, with the dates and venues revealed for 2019, it’s most certainly an exciting time for everyone involved at the Championship Darts Corporation.
