Leighton Bennett stunned the field in the 2018 Cambridgeshire Open as the 12-year old from Lincolnshire scooped the £1000 first prize. A few of the PDC professionals have tipped Leighton for success in the future, but this is a phenomenal achievement for a 12-year old.

The talent of youngsters in this day in age is remarkable and with the introduction of the JDC & other youth systems, the quality of these young players is going to continue to rise, but what an achievement this is from Leighton Bennett.

The 12-year old from Lincolnshire blown away the field, and with it some PDC names.

In the Final, Bennett whitewashed Rhys Hayden who competes on the PDC Development Tour in an assuring 5-0 victory with an average of 82.59. Prior to that in the Semi-Finals, Bennett saw off ‘Rapid’ Ricky Evans 4-3 with an 81.99 average as Evans fired in a 90 average himself.

The future of our sport is certainly in great hands it has to be said, and Bennett pockets a cool £1000 for his efforts today.
